Membership in the Blue Planet Club (BPC) is open to anyone who is deeply
concerned about the well-being of the web-of-life on our small blue planet
as stated succinctly here:

“We are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairytales of eternal economic growth.” — Greta Thunberg

As Greta has pointed out, we need to redirect the goal of our current civilisation from GROWTH to survival.  We need a Plan B!

In today’s world, the idea of ‘GROWTH’ has largely become endemic.  Our national and lower levels of government all work toward increasing GROWTH within their jurisdiction.  This means they create laws designed to increase the number of people, the number of jobs, and GROWTH in commodity throughput.  This can be summarized as GROWTH in energy expenditure - entropy.  The metric used for this indicator is flow rate of fiat $dollars$.

The Blue Planet Governance proposal provides a sketch of a ‘Plan B’ system change.  In this system of governance the definition of ‘ecological economics’ might be:

An Ecological Economics system is one wherein the currency that enables human transactions is based on, and limited by, ecological and other resource-wealth-and-health considerations within each country or Region of Earth.  This data is based on global standards established to categorize and quantify each element that represents ‘real-wealth’.  Each region will have an overall wealth rating and therefore will have a wealth per capita rating.  With this ecological economic system regional wealth per capita is inversely proportional to its human population.  This brings human procreation considerations into each regional government’s planning and regulation considerations.

If you can endorse this simple statement:
          I prefer the basic concept of Blue Planet Governance, as described on page 2,
          over the nature of today’s governance, where independent competitive
          nations seem unable to accommodate the reality of ‘Limits To Growth
          on our small blue planet
.

Is it ok if we send occasional progress information?  Yes or No:

This list will be used only to give encouragement to the Blue Planet Club as
membership grows.  From willing BPC members we will select a leadership team to:

1.     Participate in in continuous improvement of the model shown on page two;

2.     Help expand on the social and political infrastructure needed for an eventual Blue Planet Government model;

3.     To help organize outreach efforts to invite NGOs and/or any suitable organization or individual to be a BPC members.

While there are many organizations telling us that we must change, the Blue Planet Club members suggest that we work toward a dynamically interactive system of World and Regional governance such as the model on Page 2.
